The Syrian Special Operations Forces (SSOF) are the special forces of the Syrian Arab Army since 2022 and formerly of the Syrian National Army between 2004 and 2022. It is an amalgamation of former Syrian National Army Commandos that were trained by Sierran SOCOM and Brazorian Rangers, who defected to the Ba'ath movement following the 2022 Damascus offensive, and former elite units of the Syrian opposition army (including the Tiger Force and the Republican Guard). During the Syrian Civil War these units did the majority of the fighting for each side.
