- Islamist insurgents kill two police officers in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The attack comes one day after the anniversary of the region's constitutional autonomy.

- France reports 2,846 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, as well as 12,300 new cases over the past week, making it the highest increase in COVID-19 cases since the end of the lockdown in May.
- Paris and Marseilles are declared "active zones", or high-risk zones, by the French government. The move allows authorities within both cities to impose restrictions in these areas.

- The House of Commons is set to vote on the National Health Protection Act of 2020 proposed by Social Democrat Prime Minister Susan Kwon on Sunday. If passed, the bill will see the nationalization of all hospitals and health clinics and give a $2,000 check to all Sierran citizens each month.

- Germany officially declares all of Spain, except for the Canary Islands, to be a high risk region following a spike in COVID-19 cases in Spain. Designations of high risk regions are usually followed by the German Foreign Ministry warning tourists not to travel to said regions for people returning from such areas to be in quarantine for two weeks upon their return to Germany.

- 2020 Spanish presidential election
- A petition with over 200,000 signatures calling for the upcoming presidential election to be delayed is sent to the office of the president. President Santiago Morales holds his stance against postponing the election arguing that the Spainish government will ensure that voting can be done in a safe manner and not require delaying the election.
