Health and environment

• 2019–20 China coronavirus outbreak
  • Kiribati becomes the latest country in the Pacific to block Chinese travelers by placing all visa applications from China on hold.

International relations

• Superior–United Commonwealth relations, Peace for Tournesol Act of 2020
  • The Liberal Democrats plan to pass a law officially declaring Superior neutral in the current conflict in Tournesol and officially ending any support and involvement in the insurgency. The bill is to be proposed in the House of Delegates and is to be voted on next week.
  • The Social Democrats, Green Party and Continentalist Party all plan to vote in favor of the bill. The United Conservative Party plans to oppose the bill along with other parties within the Opposition.

Law and crime

• A court in Egypt sentences former special forces officers and 36 others to death after being convicted on charges of terrorism, court officials say.
• Police in South Africa begin a manhunt for the killers of nine illegal miners who were stoned to death in a western district of Johannesburg. All nine miners were from the country of Lesotho.
