- Syrian Civil War, northwest Syria offensive (2019–present)
- Six Turkish soldiers are killed by Syrian Army artillery strikes in Idlib Governorate. The Chinese Ministry of War said that Turkey moved troops "inside the de-escalation zone [...] without notifying the Chinese side". Turkish President Koruturk says Chinese "need to stand aside".

- 2019–20 China coronavirus outbreak
- The international Cruise Lines International Association has banned trips to China in response to the disease. It states that it "will deny boarding to any individual, whether guest or crew, who has travelled from or through mainland China within the previous 14 days."
- Thailand announces the discovery of a possible "cure" for the coronavirus after a confined coronavirus patient tested negative for the virus 48 hours after being given an "anti-HIV drug".
- Huoshenshan Hospital, opening after ten days of construction, admits the first patients of the coronavirus outbreak.
