- An officer of the New York City Police Department is suspended without pay after he is caught on camera using a chokehold on a 35-year-old man in Queens. The usage of chokeholds was recently banned in New York City and in the state of New Netherlands, Northeast Union.

- 2020 Libertarian Party leadership election
- Provincial Libertarian parties hold elections in Clark, Mojave, Eureka and Washumko.
- Ryan Porter wins in Clark and Mojave, McCellen wins in Eureka and Berhman wins in Washumko.
- 2020 Yugoslav parliamentary election
- Incumbent Prime Minister Vujadin Borisavljević of the National People's Party wins re-election, though the party and their allies in the Civic Alliance lose a total of 48 seats to the Social Democratic Party.

- Apple's transition to ARM processors
- Apple Inc. announces a transition of all of its personal computer products from using Intel processors to the new ARM-based processors designed by Apple themselves. The company has been using Intel processors for its computer products since 2006.

- George Floyd protests
- NASCAR launches an investigation after a noose was discovered in the garage area of Bubba Wallace, the lone Africa American driver in the series, at the Talladega Superspeedway, Talladega, Alabama., vowing to "eliminate those responsible" from the sport. Bubba Wallace had recently convinced NASCAR to prohibit the display of the Confederate flag at the racetrack and events.
- The Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation have launched a joint-investigation into the event investigating it as a possible threat and hate crime.
