• 2021 Suez Canal obstruction
  • The Suez Canal Authority has suspended navigation through the Suez Canal until the grounded shipping container Ever Given can be refloated. The canal has been obstructed for a total of three consecutive days.
• 2021 Brazoria power crisis
  • The death toll from the major winter storms that struck Brazoria and caused various nationwide blackouts last month rises to 111, more than double the previous numbers. It is believed that the storm is the costiliest and deadliest storms in Brazoria's history.
