The United Landonist Party of Brazoria (Spanish: Partido Landonista Unido de Brazória) is a far-left political party in Brazoria. It is the successor to the United Landonist Workers Party, which governed a one-party state in Brazoria from 1938 to 1989. The party is currently led by Henry Possetnick, who has led the party since 2019.
The United Landonist Party was founded in May of 2000 by former members of the United Landonist Workers Party, which was forcibly dissolved following the Yellowrose Revolution. The party saw massive success during the 2000 general election, where anti-monarchists, leftists, and those skeptical of a Brazorian parliamentary democracy consolidated their support to the United Landonists in order to oppose the Federalist Party. The United Landonists operated as the leading opposition party until 2004, where the party lost half of its seats earned four years prior, a result of a general acceptance of the monarchy, popularity of the government of Chancellor Rex Gutierrez, and the establishment of new, non-Landonist, leftist parties, such as the Democratic Socialists. Since 2004, the United Landonist Party has continued to gradually lose seats in the Parliament of Brazoria has Landonism and the party itself has gradually lost relevancy in Brazorian politics.
Ideologically, the United Landonist Party places on the far-left of the political spectrum. The primary goal of the party is the establishment of a "centralized, socialist and revolutionary republic" that is "unbounded by the chains of autocracy and capitalism". The party advocates for the abolition of the monarchy, and has called for the arrest of multiple members of the Brazorian royal family for "crimes against the working class". Though originally advocating for the restoration of the Brazorian Confederation, the United Landonist Party has since advocated for the continuation of parliamentary democracy, though controversially advocated for the banning of "anti-revolutionary political organizations" in their 2019 manifesto. As of 2019, the United Landonist Party holds a total of 14 seats in the Diet and no seats in the Corte of Brazoria. Although a member of the United Alliance of the Left, the United Landonist Party has abstained from participating in American Parliament elections, as the party refuses to accept the legitimacy of the organization.
