The Wedding of Queen Angelina II of Sierra and Prince Karl of Mariana is an upcoming wedding between Angelina II of Sierra and Prince Karl of Mariana. It is slated to occur on 23 December 2016 at Grace Cathedral in Porciúncula.

Engagement and planning

On 11 May 2015, the couple announced their engagement to eagerly awaiting press.

In July 2016 wedding invitations were sent out, to members of the Sierran and Marianan royal families, Sierra's Prime Minister and key politicians and representatives of other royal families. In total 470 guests were sent invivations.

Porciúncula's Grace Cathedral was selected as the location for the wedding ceremony. Preparations began in early August to prepare it for the ceremony, in which tours to the cathedral were reduced to better accommodate the work.

Wedding attire

Bride

Queen Angelina will wear a vintage-inspired dress by noted Sierran designer Gracie Headley. The dress is white with flower motifs, and had a transparent flowing cape in place of the traditional veil. The shoes were designed by Alexander McQueen, and match the dress.

Groom

Prince Karl will perform the ceremony in the full dress uniform of the Marianan Royal Guard. Upon being wed, he will then emerge out of the cathedral in a formal suit, marking a transition to his new life.

Ceremony

The ceremony formally begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Cathedral, with the blessing by the bishop at around 1:00 p.m. As per the Queen's wish, the House of Sierra's traditional Catholic ceremony will be followed.

Music

The Porciúncula Philharmonic will be performing much of the music for the ceremony together with the cathedral's choir ensemble. A detachment of Mariana's Royal Guard band will perform with the Porciúncula Phil, as a sendoff to the prince. Noted composer John Williams has written several pieces for the ceremony, including a Variations on The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, interlaying Handel's original music with themes from his most notable film scores.

Reception dinner

A post-wedding reception dinner is being hosted at the Occidental Palace, involving guests closer to the couple, such as the Queen's parents, siblings and uncles, the prince's parents, siblings and Queen and Prince Bernd of Mariana, and Prime Minister Daniel McComb and his wife. Some of the guests represent other foreign monarchies, with the ruling Grand Duke of Luxembourg personally present.
