Brian Walker
Brian James Walker (born May 11, 1980) is a Brazorian politician and former Brazorian Army officer serving as Secretary of Public Health and Welfare since 2019 and as a member of the Diet of Brazoria for Corups and Gulf Coast Area (Guadalupe's 3rd electoral district) since 2015. A member of the People's Party, Walker was appointed by Ed Gonzales after he was elected chancellor in 2019. Prior to 2019, Walker was an informal advisor to Gonzales during the latter's term as Leader of the Opposition.

Before entering politics, Walker was an officer of the Brazorian Army during the Syrian Civil War where he was part of a squad tasked with protecting the embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus. He would be injured in 2008 after being wounded by an IED and would get prosthetic legs after losing both of his in the explosion. He would return to college in 2009 while in physical therapy to get his degree.
Walker was nominated to be Secretary of Public Health and Welfare on August 3 after Gonzales released a list of cabinet nominees with Walker being appointed on August 12 upon testimony before the Corte two days prior. As health secretary, Walker has garnered attention and controversy for his support for private-based alternatives to the National Health Program, Brazoria's system of universal healthcare, and was the leading proponent of the Healthcare Opportunity Act which passed on November 22, 2019. Walker has also been one of the leading figure's in the federal government's response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic since 2020.
Early life and education
Brian Walker was born on May 11, 1980, during the later years of the Brazorian Confederation in San Antonio to a middle class family. Having grown up during the late years of Landonist rule in Brazoria, Brian was raised in a politicized educaton system until 1989 when the government was overthrown during the Yellowrose Revolution. The post-revolutionary politics would see Brian temporarily homeschooled before he was allowed to attend public school at the age of 11 in 1991 after a formal government was established in the newly created Second Kingdom of Brazoria. Brian had an "average childhood" according to his own words in interviews and stated that other than the two years in homeschool, he was able to socialize and wasn't effected by the country's changing politics at the time, crediting it to the actions of his parents.
After graduating high school in 1998, Walker would attend San Antonio Univeristy after he was rejected from Brazorian National University. He would study political science and eventually get a degree after fully graduating from university in 2011. When asked about his college life, Brian has called it "rather average for a party-loving 20 something".
Military career
Walker was in college when the September 11 attacks took place across Anglo-America by the Islamic terrorist group Al-Tuulab. In response, Walker would enlist in the Brazorian Army and would eventually be deployed to Middle East during the 2004 invasion of Syria. He would be part of the 2nd Infantry Division as part of the International Security Assistance Force and was assigned to Damascus as part of a squad meant to protect the Brazorian embassy upon its opening in January 2006.
