BattleBlitz is a free-to-play vehicular combat multiplayer video game produced by Inozemets Entertainment in 2016 for Palisade, pitayyaOS, Durangobox 4, MarkIV, DurangoBox V, and MarkV X/S. It was first released in October 2016 as an open beta with a worldwide release in December 2016; having its' official release on December 1, 2016. A spinoff game called BattleBlitz Go was released in 2023 for pitayaMOS and PalisadeLite.
Battleblitz was originally developed as multiplayer-focused sequel to the studio's previous game Blitzkrieg, due to the popularity of that games multiplayer battle mode. The game has been lauded for its focus on crossplay between platforms, allowing players from across the globe to play simultaneously. As of July 1, 2022, Battleblitz had over 75 million concurrent players registered on all platforms combined, out of which 175,000 played concurrently. In January 2024, Battleblitz set a record of 250,000 concurrent players.
Open Beta and Release
Open beta testing started on October 3, 2016 for users from Reussland and Zaduna, the a global beta launched December 1, 2016, with about 400 vehicles and aircraft and 750,000 players. Factions available on release included Khraelyia, Secrazchak, Reussland, and Mestra.
In July 2017 the "Chwigozhoi Storm" update released, adding technology trees to the UFRR and Onshokonese Empire. In January 2019 the "Tvahorn Vault" update released, adding a Vohylt-Tvahorner technology tree. In October 2019 the "Sofíae Steel" update released, adding a Sofíae Commonwealth technology tree. In April 2020 the "Vehicles of the Deyr" update released, adding a Deira technology tree. In December 2020 the "War of the Daehan" update released, adding a technology tree for Seojian and a sub-tree within the Mestran tree for Great Yan. In May 2021 the "Imperial Thunder" update released, adding an "empire" sub-tree for Khraelyia consisting of vehicles from Lingala and Vidyahara. In October 2021 the "Crostenian Clash" update released, adding naval ships to the game for the first time. In January 2022, on the 25th anniversary of the Shehari War ceasefire, the "Mezran Hills" update released, adding a Tihama technology tree and various premium vehicles that served in the Shehari War. In March 2023 the "Remani Shores" update released, adding a Remania technology tree.
In addition to the twelve main technology trees, numerous other nations are represented through a mixture of "sub-trees" within larger trees or as premium vehicles available for purchase or as rewards for in-game achievements and events.
