The Vice President of Kalșeri (Kalhan: Simlor Alseugi Kalșeri, literally "second President") is the second-highest office in Kalșeri. Under the Charter, the Vice President functions as a substitute figure in case the President is unable to carry out their duties.
The current Vice President is Jackson Leary, former de-facto President of Kalșerians for Change.
History
The post of Vice President was first mentioned in the Carnafarry Statute of 1794, which stated that the President "may appoint a vice president to serve in times of need, for as long as he wishes within the limits of his term."
The title of Vice President was codified again in 1934 by the Charter, with the same specifications. Stevan Kirkia was the first President to appoint Vice Presidents under the system of sorting among the Ministers
Appointment and removal
There are two ways to appoint a Vice President: the President may either hold an annual sorting to determine who among their Ministers will serve as Vice President for the next year, or choose someone to serve as Vice President for the term.
The Vice President can be removed from the post before the natural expiration of the term through the resignation or removal of the President, dismissal or voluntary resignation.
