- 1767 – The Provincial Assemblies of the Provinces of North Catarina, South Catariana, New Cumbria, Edessa and Mantiqueira announced that their communities would join in cooperation to maintain their sovereignty, creating the United Provinces. (SA)
1601–1900
- 1897 – The United Kingdom issues a 48-hour ultimatum to the South African Republic to withdraw its military from Cape Colony. Two days later, the United Kingdom declares war after the Volksraad fails to respond timely. The conflict becomes known as the Anglo-Boer War.

- 1965 – Frederik IX of Skandinavia inaugurates the second Skandinavisk Kirkemøtet of The Church of Skandinavia.
- 1996 – In The Net, the Nosers attack a domain belonging to alt.tv-beavis-n-butthead, in a conflict that became known as the Feline Wars. (The Net)
- 2009 – Fighting between the Cheyenne government and the Dakotan Republic begins during the Second American Civil War. (FW)
- 2013 – During a Jacobite protest against the election of Carson Davis as the Chief Alderman of Bernheim, a powerful bomb exploded in a trash can near the protest in Downtown Bernheim. 37 people were killed instantly, and 3 others succumbed to their injuries later. The attack was perpetrated by four members of a republican militia, who were arrested.
