The 2021 Imperial gubernatorial election took place on July 6 to elect the governor of the Province of Imperial.
Incumbent Democratic-Republican governor Micharl Renison, who was first elected in 2017 with 55.8% of the vote, ran for a second term and announced his candidacy on January 1, 2021. Renison's high popularity and moderate approval rating caused him to run unopposed in the Democratic-Republican primary and was endorsed by the Social Democrats and Green Party once again just like in 2017. For the Royalist Party, former provincial assembly member Michael Ciattarelli was nominated in a three-way race. The Libertarian Party would nominate Michael Watson at the party convention and Jackson Rockwell, a businessman and entrepreneur from Yuma, ran as an independent and was notable for garnering a significant ammount of media attention in the process.
The Imperial gubernatorial race was the first one in the 2021 Sierran gubernatorial elections after the race in Cornerstone was delayed from May 13 to November 30. Michael Renison was re-elected to a second term winning 66,402 votes or 53.6% of the popular vote. Ciattarelli won 47,192 votes or 38.1% of the popular vote. Rockwell won 7.2% of the vote or 8,918 votes in the best showing for an independent candidate for the governorship while Watson came last at 1,362 votes or 1.1% of the vote. His campaign was notable for its high ammount of controversy over the divided Libertarian base over the leadership of Ryan Porter which became a key issue in the party's campaign. Renison was inaugurated on July 13 to start his second term.
