The United Duchies of Central Kingdom (commonly referred as Central Kingdom) is a constituent country of the Californian Union (the others being the United States of JBR, the Democratic People's Republic of California, Kern, Peru, Chile, and Gauntletia) situated over what originally was the Californian counties of Fresno County, Kings County and Tulare County. It was founded on April 21, 2011 after six years in anarchy due to the dissolution of the United States of America. It borders Gauntletia to the west, Kern to the south. To the east, it borders the unorganized nation of Yosemite Republic, to the north, stateless societies, and to the northwest, the Democratic People's Republic of California.

Central Kingdom has an elective monarchy and is ruled by the King who exercises full authority with the advice of the Duchies' Council and Privy Council. The Kingdom is divided into six sub-administrative regions known as duchies; each being ruled by a duke or duchess. The dukes and duchesses form the Duchies' Council. Barons rule baronies (an equivalent to a county) within these duchies. The government rules itself independently although shares a stronger, central government with six other countries through the government of the Californian Union.

Etymology

The term Central Kingdom was devised by Charles Ehrenberg, the future king, during a meeting with several delegates several months before the initial creation. "Central" refers to the country's territory which lies in parts of former Central California while "Kingdom" refers to the country's government, a monarchy.

History

Foundation

Central Kingdom was founded on April 21, 2011 after existing as part of large area of anarchic communities in the former Central California region. The area fell after the dissolution of the U.S.. After the United States of JBR was formed in the south of present-day Central Kingdom, various people began looking towards a new government to rule. One of the most prominent people who devised a new country was Charles Ehrenberg, a farmer and Vietnam War veteran. After much support, several delegates from cities across the former Central Californian region agreed to the form the United Duchies of Central Kingdom. The former counties of Kings County, Tulare County, and Fresno County were the ones that formed the Kingdom while the counties of Merced, Madera, San Benito County, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne opted out.
