ConSat
The Consolidated Satellite constellation is the East Asian Federation's multi-use satellite constellation. The system is composed of twenty-four communications and imagery satellites manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric. The system provides global coverage for Federation military communications and the ability to control any Tonbo Drone anywhere on Earth. ConSats are extremely vital to East Asian Federation armed forces missions abroad and as such are among the most secure data links in the world.
Ground Receivers
The main operating stations for the ConSat system are in Tokyo, Seoul, and Saikyō, but portable receivers can be deployed by EAF troops outside of the range of these stations. Leviathan-class Aerial Platforms have a built in receiving station that can only be used when deployed above the cloud layer.
Series Two
The second series of ConSats was launched to act as redirection stations for the Orbital Relay Cannon Array. Series Two ConSats include redirection mirrors for the ORCA system, enhanced broadband communications system for Force C4ISTAR purposes. The new series two constellation is active, and series one satellites will act as backups for the new constellation.
Purpose
The ConSat constellation hosts many purposes, including:
- Trajectory Redirection Mirrors for the Orbital Relay Cannon Array
- Military communications for the East Asian Federation armed forces
- Military reconnaissance for the East Asian Federation armed forces
- Earth observation for weather forecasting and event/disaster tracking
- Integrated Defense Network backup communications links
- Time signals for public use
- The Compass global navigation system inherited from the People's Republic of China
