The demographics of Sierra are monitored and reported by the Ministry of Culture's Royal Bureau of Census. Sierra is the 3rd most populous country in the world, with an estimated population of 86,843,182 as of June 2018. It is the 2nd most populous country in the Western Hemisphere. Porciúncula is the most populous city, the Gold Coast is the most populous province, the Southwest Corridor is the most populous conurbation, and the mean center of the K.S. population has consistently shifted eastward and southward since the K.S. Royal Bureau of Census began recording in 1858. Population figures only include those living in any of the Kingdom's incorporated territories belonging to Federal Sierra, Hawaii, or Deseret. In 2010, its overall population density was 137.5 per square mile (53.08 per square kilometer), making it the 166th most densely country in the world. About 94% of Sierra's population live in urban areas, making it one of the most urbanized countries in the world, with nearly 60% of the country's population living within 50 miles of the coastline. These demographic trends have been attributed to the semi-arid and desert geography of the country's interior.

The total fertility rate of Sierra is 1.77 children per woman, which is below the replacement fertility rate of approximately 2.1. The K.S. Royal Bureau of Census showed a population increase of 1.1% for the twelve-month period ending in August 2018, which matched the world annual average rate. The under-five infant mortality rate was 4.6 deaths per 1,000 live births between 2008 and 2018, which was below the OCED average of 7.0.

The human sex ratio of Sierra is 0.98 males for every female. As of June 2018, there were about 42.55 million males living in Sierra. The number of females was about 44.3 million females living in Sierra. At age 85 and older, there were nearly twice as many women as men. People under 21 years of age made up over a quarter of Sierra's population (27.4%), and people age 65 and older made up one-sixth (16.3%) of the population. The national median age was 39.1 years in 2018.

The K.S. Royal Bureau of Census reported that no single ethnic group or race formed a majority of Sierra's population, making Sierra a minority-majority state, a statistical fact which began following the 1990 Census. Hispanics and Latinos of any race, irrespective of nationality, formed the largest single ethnic group in Sierra. Spanish is Sierra's second most widely spoken language and one of the country's official languages. Historically, non-Hispanic Whites formed the majority of Sierra's population, but the proportion of whites in Sierra has steadily declined since the end of the Sierran Cultural Revolution. Non-Hispanic Whites constitute the second largest racial group in Sierra, followed by Asian Sierrans. Black Sierrans accounted for approximately 7.5% of the population, with over half of them identifying as Sierran Creole. Nearly one-fifth of Sierra's population are biracial or multiracial, and another one-fifth identify as another race outside the traditional categories (White, Asian/Pacific Islander, Black, and Amerindian).

Sierra has one of the world's highest levels of economic productivity, technological advancement, education, and quality of life. Residents enjoy the third largest economy in the world and the fourth highest GDP per capita. The Kingdom can be described as a broadly middle-class society although in recent years, there have been concerns towards a widening income inequality and sustained levels of poverty among Sierra's racial minorities and citizens living in the Sierran overseas territories. Sierrans are among the world's most well-educated, with 55 percent of Sierrans attaining at least some form of college degree.

The life expectancy in Sierra is among the highest in the world, which was 81.6 years between 2008 and 2018. It is home to Loma Linda, Inland Empire, one of the world's recognized Blue Zones which have the healthiest populations in the world and some of the world's highest concentrations of centenarians of either sex.

History

In 1860, the Royal Bureau of Census officially recorded a population of 456,923. Over 75% of the population were non-Hispanic White, while the rest consisted mainly of Hispanic Whites and Mestizos, with a small population of Asian immigrants, Black American migrants, and Native Amerindians. By 1900, waves of immigration and rapid economic growth altered the demographic profile of Sierra significantly. The Census recorded a population of 5.5 million, as the country witnessed legal immigration levels of roughly 400,000 each year between 1895 and 1890. Eastern Anglo-America, including Brazoria, Superior, and the United Commonwealth, was the primary source of immigration at the time, while secondary sources of immigration included Asian countries such as China, Japan, and Tondo, and Southern European nations such as Italy and Greece. There were also small numbers of immigrants and migrant workers arriving from Latin America, particularly from Sierra's southern neighbors, Mexico and Central America, and the Andes.

Immigration levels increased during both world wars but dipped during the post-war period, due to immigration quotas and border control measures implemented during the 1920s, the political volatility created by the Sierran Cultural Revolution, and onset of the Great Depression. Birth rates among both urban-dwelling and rural-based populations declined during the economic downturn as limited financial resources discouraged the creation of large families. Following the end of the Great War, the hundreds of thousands of Sierran military servicemen who returned home in a time of peace and economic prosperity led to the baby boomers, a generational cohort that arose in the postwar period that saw a pronounced increase in birth rate and decreased infant mortality rates. This population increase has had long-lasting economic, political, and social effects on Sierran society.
