Elysian Fields/Hooper Institute, opened as Elysian Fields/Capital Park is a RTS Koiwai station on the Yellow and Blue Lines. Blue Line trains originally served the east-west Yellow Line platforms when the Blue Line was opened in 2003, utilizing a switch east of the station to proceed north on Elysian Fields Avenue. However, in 2005, construction began on a southward extension of the Blue Line to Summerfield station to accomodate for heavy traffic along Ivalice Boulevard. The Blue Line now uses a north-south platform below the original east-west platform, opened in 2009.
