Health care in the United States of JBR is provided by several legal entities. Health care facilities are mostly operated and owned by the private sector and health insurance is also provided generally by the said sector. Several exceptions include HealthCare and the Veteran Health Administration.

The JBR Census reports that about 29 million out of the 30 million legal citizens of the United States of JBR have insurance meaning an estimated amount of 1 million are uninsured and rely on public health organizations and HealthCare to provide basic support. The government United States of JBR spends about 23% of its budget on health and medicine per year. According to the Census, there is one doctor per ten people and many students often choose to go to the medical field and learn.

The life expectancy of an average JBRican is around 92 but even higher among women who usually live up to 96 years. Much of this is due to JBRican's high interest in medicine and health and many JBRicans profess to Seventh-day Adventism Christianity which heavily emphasizes health lifestyles. Health care reforms are often one of the most proposed bills in the Congress of the United States of JBR and recently on creating a universal health care for the whole nation.

Facilities

In the United States of JBR, most health facilities and clinics are owned by private businesses although some are owned by federal, state, and local governments. A significant amount of hospitals are also owned by religious organizations or churches. Required in every hospital in the United States of JBR, a emergency center and urgent care centers are found in every hospital and a majority of all hospitals in JBR have pharmacies.
Several hospitals are exclusively reserved for specific people such as veteran hospitals which are reserved for retired or on-duty soldiers and Native American Health Service (NAHS) which are found in many Indian reservations.

Medical products, research, and development

Like in most developed countries, the manufacturing and production of pharmaceuticals and medical devices is carried out by private companies. The research and development of medical devices and pharmaceuticals is largely supported by both public and private sources of funding. The spending on biotechnology by the United States of JBR is about 31% of all funds provided for health and medicine according to the JBR Census.

Budget

As of March 2011, the Department of Health, Human Services, and Nourishment of the United States of JBR published the Health Care Overview which outlined the overall budget from the government of the United States of JBR being spent on health and medicine, has received 23% of the budget or an equivalent to $1.3 billion since October 2010; the inaugural year of the United States of JBR. It surpasses the budget used on labor and education and trails behind defense and welfare by 2%. A recent poll with 18,403 participants were asked whether or not should increase on spending on health and medicine and 89% of the participants said "yes". Several health experts and critics has criticized and even questioned the government of the United States of JBR's poor effort to create a universal health care and called for budget cut on defense. The government agreed to transfer 3% of the budget from defense to health on March 29, 2011.
