Nicholas "Nick" Jackson Thompson (born 29 September 1952) is a Continental politician and retired Continental Air Force general who is currently the Continentalist Party First Secretary of Arkansas since 2018. A career Air Force officer, he previously served as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Central Military Commission from 2008 until 2011. Before becoming the head of the Continental Armed Forces, Thompson was a fighter pilot and also served as the Chief of Staff of the Continental Air Force from 2005 to 2008, Commanding General of the Second Air Force (Air Forces West), and Commanding General of Air Combatant Command.

He graduated from the Continental Air Force Academy with a degree in aerospace engineering and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1974. He served as a pilot and held commands on the squadron and fighter wing level before earning a general officer rank. Thompson spent the years between 2005 and 2011 as the head of the Air Force and then the head of the entire Armed Forces. One of his achievements as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was initiating and obtaining Party approval for Project Dark Eagle in 2010, the United Commonwealth's first experiment to develop a hypersonic missile. He entered Arkansas politics after retiring from the military in 2011 and became a member of the Continentalist Party and the People's Revolutionary Union.
