The Second Mestran-Virlannian War was an armed conflict fought between 21 January and 16 April 2010 in Mestra and Virlannia. It was a major escalation of an unresolved conflict over the region. The war lasted for 86 days and resulted in a Virlannian victory with Virlannia annexing Kaerskov and the Lake Skendrvia Islands under the terms of the Peace Treaty of Suedval and mandated by the World Mandate Organization under WMO Resolution 194V. The war led to a international humiliation for Mestra in the middle of the Global Freeze and significantly altered the balance of power on Central Verdantis, with Virlannia supplanting Mestra as the Skendravian land power.

In 11 May 1940, Virlannia joins the Great War on the side of Talmiera, Kaerskov and the Naskoran Plains became the main focus between Mestra and Virlannia during the war due to its demographic. Subsequent losses and the defeat of Axis Powers led Virlannia to cede some of its territories in the Treaty of Altim. In 14 April 1953, Virlannia invaded Mestra in the 5 Days War with the intention to retake its former territories under Mestran control, exploiting the Mestran Succession Crisis and the Harskaeland and Helstorig secession from Mestra. But it only resulted in the cession of all of Virlannian territory on the Naskoran Plains to Mestra and led to the 3 decades of the Virlannian-Mestran Border Crisis. But after years of failed attempts, defeats, and with popular unrest in Virlannia pressured the Virlannian government to reform into a democracy, Virlannia would cease their attempts on retaking their lands and ending the border crisis in 1981. The next 3 decades would be marked with relative peace to the border. The year 2008 brought a return of the conflict after the election of President of Virlannia Sigfred Steffensen, border clashes between the two countries and a separatist movement in the Naskoran Plains would renew the conflict between the 2 countries.

Fighting began on the morning of 21 January, with an Virlannian offensive along the contested zone and Landings on islands in Lake Skendrvia after the Kaerskov Revolt. A week later, much of the Mestran 4th Army had been either encircled destroyed while Islands were contested between the 2 states. Exploiting the confusion and partial collapse of the front line, Virlannian forces swiftly advanced, capturing the vicinity of Osly, the second-largest city in the Naskoran Plains in the Western Kaerskov Offensive and completing their capture of the islands. However, Mestran Forces reorganized, mobilized, and with the support of The OFSN, initiated a counteroffensive that led to a brief stalemate, ultimately resulting in the signing of the Peace Treaty of Suedval, ending all hostilities in the region from 16th April 2010. This peace treaty signed at the end of the war resulted in a major shift regarding the control of the territories in Naskoran Plains and the areas surrounding it.

The war was marked by the deployment of large quantities of personnel, tanks, aircraft and drones never seen before since the Shehari War, as well as by state propaganda and the use of official social media accounts in online information warfare. In particular, the Virlannian Armed Forces successfully used the deep battle strategy and the widespread use of drones to their full extent for the first time. Numerous countries and the World Mandate Organization had strongly condemned the war and called on both countries to de-escalate tensions and start meaningful negotiations.
