- Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to make landfall in the Southern United Commonwealth prompting some test sites to close for safety. The storm has already made landfall in Puerto Rico causing flooding, landslides and power outages.

- British Hong Kong reports its largest single-day increase in COVID-19 with 149 cases being reported in the last 24 hours, including one new death. Of these 149 new cases, 145 of them are locally tramsitted.
- The government of British Hong Kong revises a day-old ban on indoor dining to stop the spread of COVID-19 and alters it to allow for indoor dining by publishing guidelines on how restaurants can operate inside, but mandates that restaurants can operate inside only during the day, keep the capacity at only 50% and with no more than two people at a table.
