William I of Superior (born William George Leopold Louis Augustus-Miller; January 2, 1929 – September 26, 1992) was the sixth monarch of the Kingdom of Superior. Reigning from 1947 to 1992, William is the second longest reigning monarch in Superian history, following his great-grandfather George II and was the first monarch of the House of Welfburg, the current ruling house of Superior.

William was born at the Heartland Palace in Saint Anthony as the oldest child of Princess Anne and Prince Christian of the Kingdom of Sierra. He was born as a grandson of Charles I of the Kingdom of Sierra and great-grandson of George I. He was born second-in-line to the Superian throne, though he was not expected to inherit the crown as his uncle was expected to have children sometime in the future. William spent much of his early childhood at the Roanoke Place in Wyoming, where he and his family had fled to during Continental invasion of Superior. William became crown prince and heir apparent to the throne in 1940 after the unexpected death of his uncle and the ascension of his mother.

William attended the University of Minnesota, being the first member of the royal family to attend university, and received an associate's degree in geology. He continued his education at Stanford University in the Kingdom of Sierra, where advanced to a bachelor's degree. At the age of twenty-one, William ascended to the throne following the death of his mother, becoming the youngest person to serve as sovereign. His coronation was attended by various foreign dignataries and was the first royal coronation to be televised in Superior, attracting over TBD million viewers. He is the first Superian sovereign of the House of Welfburg, a cadet branch of the Sierran House of Columbia.

William's reign was dominated by the Cold War, in which Superior acted as a major player in the opposition to Marxist-Landonism and the United Commonwealth. In the midst of political uncertainty and impending doom during the Cold War, William emerged as a unifying figurehead for most Superians. His reign saw the final transition into constitutional monarchy in Superior. Whereas his predecessors would become involved in the processes of government, William pushed for and established the royal tradition of political impartiality, in which members of the royal family are barred from taking political positions and advocated for greater transparency regarding the royal treasury and salary, palace reconstruction efforts, and expenditures.

He also oversaw great political change and turmoil in Superior, overseeing the passage of the Civil Rights and Liberties Act in 1976, the counter-culture movement of the 1960s and 1970s, and various Cold War crises such as TBD. He married Princess Maria Christina of Württemberg in 1949 and had four children: Henry, Christian, Ernest, and Marie Josephine. A avid smoker, William died in 1992 due to complications with lung cancer and was succeeded by his eldest son Henry, also died not long after his father. William is widely considered to be the most popular contemporary monarch in Superian history.
