American unionism in Superior is a social and political movement that encompasses various political parties, organizations, advocacy groups and other individuals who advocate for and support Superior's continued membership in the Conference of American States and support for CAS law, policies, agreements such as the Lincoln Area and other similar legislation and political decisions. American unionism has been an established element of national politics since Superior's accession into the Conference in 1966 as the country is one of the founding members of the CAS along with Astoria, the Kingdom of Sierra, Manitoba and Alaska. The American unionist movement has taken numerous forms in Superior which includes political advocacy, lobbying efforts, and legislation to implement and back CAS law and other pro-CAS policies.

Political parties that espouse American unionism includes the Liberal Democratic Party (one of the two major parties in Superior), the Farmer Labor Party, Green Party of Superior, and the Reform Party of Superior. American unionism is generally associated with liberalism and progressivism, however a minority of conservatives have expressed unionist positions such as the Christian Democratic Party. Major unionist organizations includes American Movement Superior, Youth for America, Superians for America and the Conference of American States Parliamentary Conference in the House of Delegates.

American unionism has been a prominent force in Superian politics and held a monopoly during the Cold War where Ameroskepticism would be associated with appeasement towards the United Commonwealth and its allies in the Landonist International. It would not be until the 1990s that Ameroskepticism would rise and become a focal point in political discourse and conduct thanks to the rise of Alexander Harper of the United Popular Front and later the United Conservative Party. Despite facing significant challenge from the Ameroskeptic movement since the 2010s and since 2020, American unionism remains a prominent movement in Superior and a major force in its politics.

History

Cold War years

In 1966, the Kingdom of Superior would sign the Treaty of Seattle along with four other nations in Anglo-America to formally establish the Conference of American States. The CAS would be created as a counterweight to both the Landonist International and the Organization for Mutual Economic Assistance and Development as a means of stopping the spread of Landonism and the power and influence of the United Commonwealth during the Cold War. This was viewed as essential due to Superior having suffered from the effects of the military occupation by the Continental Armed Forces during the Great War which solidified the Continental States as Superior's greatest geopolitical threat. President Allen Westing of the Liberal Democratic Party celebrated the CAS' creation viewing it as both a vital tool to oppose Continental and Landonist influence and as a means of bringing the Anglo-American nations together after decades of war, bloodshed, and hardship since the early decades of the 20th century.
