Morganelle Mindyrette is a notable Aerlon politician, military strategist, and social activist who was famous for being the leader of the Morganite Rebellion during the Ironia-Ursonberg Wars of 2113-2122. Widely regarded as one of the most influential people in the entire history of the Polytinaris Spur, Morganelle and her efforts were greatly responsible for the downfall of the tyrannical Tessian Hegemony and its transformation into a much freer, more democratic society that placed strong values on egalitarian policies and interspecies cooperation.

Born on the habitable planet Tertan in the year 1952, from even a young age Morganelle’s life was riddled with challenges stemming from her parents’ strong ideological divides and a significant personal injury in 1961 at the age of 9 that left her permanently scarred and completely deaf in one of her ears. Experiencing further upheaval from Tessia von Gretolia’s revolution in 1998, in her early adulthood Morganelle stabilized her life by joining the military and quickly became known for her intelligence and battle prowess. She progressed fairly quickly through the ranks of the new Benevolent Star Navy, attaining the status of High Captain by 2015, when she led an exploratory expedition into the Calexi System and made contact with a race known as the Ilexians.

Morganelle’s tenure as the Calexi star system’s governor-general significantly shifted her stance on life. While Tessian society officially sponsored bigotry against non-aerlons and made notions of aerlon supremacism the norm, Morganelle actually cooperated quite well with the good-natured and nonviolent Ilexians, and went to several extreme measures to ensure that she retained her position as the system’s leader, out of fear that a new, much less tolerant general would take her place. Morganelle also was happy to grant notable Tessian opponents and other activists safe asylum in Calexi - much to the dismay of other commanders in the Tessian military and government, who over time developed an increasingly disapproving stance towards her actions.

Things changed for Morganelle Mindyrette again in the year 2113, when the Tessian Hegemony went to war with the Kingdom of Ironia-Ursonberg of the Taebol System. When the Tessian government began conducting mass conscriptions of non-aerlon soldiers into the military during the war, Morganelle notoriously either refused or only accepted on special conditions. After the war was over, she became much more active and direct in her opposition to the Tessian regime, directly supporting rebel movements, helping non-aerlons and other sympathetic people to escape, and eventually declared Calexi’s sovereignty in 2117. In retaliation, the Hegemony’s Benevolent Premier Tessia von Gretolia declared her a criminal and ordered Morganelle’s capture - only for her to heroically flee to Ironia-Ursonberg in 2118, prompting the start of another war after said nation was gladly able to grant her asylum and freedom from imprisonment. Now the leader of a combined coalition of rebels forming up the Morganite Rebellion, Morganelle was at the forefront of its fight and, along with several other figures such as Lukeneum Sarllove Kewell, the Eridani Family, and the Seven Great Spears, would heroically emerge victorious in the Battle of the Polytinaris System 2122, after which she became the leader of the Stellar Commonwealth, seeking to revive the ideals of the old Polytinaris Commonwealth and ensure equity and prosperity for all species of the Spur.

Early life

Born as Morganelle Rinaffar Mindyrette on May 19, 1952 to parents Raffaeligus Nadoeus Mindyrette and Vesuvia Vulcania Nova Mindyrette in the city of Tolleanas, Tertan. From a very young age, Morganelle developed a strong interest in several planetary science fields (specifically, volcanology and meteorology) from her parents’ own careers - her father was a well-respected scientist in both of these fields - as well as from stories she read in early childhood. Among the latter was the mythical tale of the Tantalorus Cataclysm, a legendary story involving a demonic entity called Tantalorus and its usurpation of Tertan’s largest moon Tryaxiana, which it then used to subsequently unleash a series of disasters on Tertan that caused billions of deaths & nearly brought about the end of civilization.
