The Siege of the Catalina Island was the sixth battle of the Jihad War of the United States of JBR and the first attack made by the National Revolutionary Front (FNR) and the YIELD Force on the United States of JBR. The battle began when several Coast Guard officers detected an intruder in the waters near the Santa Catalina Island; a populated island just 20 miles from the JBRican shores. The Coast Guard notified local authorities and immediately the state of Catalinan alerted of a possible attack. A conflict that happened the day before; the Disappearance of the Ensco Ram at the Union of Midway, was believed to be linked to the suspicious activity in the water. Supreme Admiral Ethan Du and Admiral Aleksa Marr immediately responded by deploying 4 naval carriers and 230 or so soldiers with them. Two destroyer ships were also deployed by the Coast Guard to respond to the suspected attackers. On 11:23 AM, a supply vessel was found unmanned and floating just 12 miles from the town of Avalon. Four scouts boarded the ship before they were ambushed and killed by several people on board. Immediately, Du and Marr opened fire on the soldiers. Several AIL suicide bombers emerged into the scene and swam towards one JBRican destroyer. Many were shot before the explosives ever had a chance to explode and unusually, several were mauled and devoured by sharks that were swimming in the ocean. Pietro Celega, the primary commander of the ship, emerged from Ensco Ram and was nearly shot by sight. By 11:31 AM, several YIELD Force-led submarines began emerging and fired torpedoes at the JBRican fleet. Due to a lack of cooperative communication and technical difficulties, most torpedoes never fully deployed and were instead; fired amongst themselves. Dozens immediately died while one successfully fired at a naval carrier. Most of its passengers jumped overboard where they swam to the other ships. 80 of them were killed while swimming or failed to evacuate the ship on time.
11:49 PM marked the end of the battle; Celega escaped via a submarine and the Ensco Ram was returned back to the Pro-JBRican forces. The Coast Guard of the United States of JBR and Navy ordered a lockdown of the entire area and many minesweeper ships were deployed in search for any possible explosives that did not explode. Only 5 were found successfully.
