    • 2020 Nice stabbing
      • Three people are killed in a stabbing attack in Notre-dame de Nice in Nice by an attacker shouting "Allahu Akbar". The attack has been described as an act of terrorism by the mayor and police are investigating the incident. The attacker was shot and arrested.

  • 2020 Democratic Republic of the Congo attacks
    • 18 people are killed and a church is burned down in an attack in Oicha, North Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, by militants suspected to belong to the Allied Democratic Forces.

      • The Chamber of Deputies overwhelmingly approves of a new nationwide lockdown which passed 399 to 27, according to an announcement from Prime Minister Oscar de Saint-Just. Under these new rules, all schools will require students age six and over to wear face masks and people will only be allowed to leave their homes to buy groceries, commuting to work, medical or pressing family concerns, and exercise for only one hour at a time and no farther than one kilometer (0.62 miles) from their homes.
