There are a number of political parties registered and active in Bajaría since its creation in 2021. Prior to the creation of Bajaría, the constituent country consisted of several territories in the highly disputed region of El Norte, each possessing their own respective political parties that contested elections within their own parliaments. Following the Organic Act of 2021 and the creation of Bajaría, these parties merged to create the current parties in Bajaría today. This article lists all known political parties within Bajaría, both before and after 2021, regardless of registration and political representation in either level of government.
Overview
Before becoming a constituent country of the Kingdom of Sierra, present-day Bajaría consisted of several territories in El Norte; Cancún, Mérida, Pacífico Norte, Pacífico Sur, and South Sonora, all of which have since become constituent states. Each territory had their own respective political parties, organizations, and factions that contested elections and ran in each territory's respective parliament (present state legislatures). These parties were ideologically aligned with the national parties and held similar positions/ideological leanings despite not being formally part of them. After the creation of Bajaría, these parties merged to create new political parties exclusive to the country that would contest elections to both the K.S. Parliament and the Parliament of Bajaría.
These parties were formed from the various territorial parties based on commonly held ideological views and policy positions along with which federal party they supported. While no formal agreement has been made between a federal or Bajarian party like the Great Salt Lake Declaration between the Royalist and Federalist Party and the People's Party in the Deseret, informal agreements between parties have been created. Unlike in the Deseret, Bajarian parties can contest elections and field candidates to the federal parliament on their own ticket while cooperating with their preferred parties regardless of standing in parliament.
All parties active in Bajaría have to register with the Electoral Registration Commission to be granted official status as a political party and be allowed to contest elections under their own ticket, having to run as either an independent or on the ticket of a registered party.
