[OOC: Centrist16 was absent for the first 1.5 hours of the Session...]
As the party passes the guards, a familiar rumbling sound occurs as a giant drill comes out. Rok tells Jed what has transpired: the party was recruited by Ore'zham to serve as bodyguards and help him reclaim his rightful claim to the throne of the mole-dwarves, of Molemar specifically, following the poisoned death of the previous king. Ore'zham says he is a dwarf isolation while his cousin is a dwarf supremacist who deserves the surface. Ore'zham on the other hand, is proud to be below.
A dwarf passes by, holding a sign, informing those who are interested, to arrive at the town hall to let their voice be heard in about an hour. Rok asks if Ore'zham has a speech ready. Ore'zham asks them to accompany him as he drafts a speech. He says he cannot write but he read. He tells them to go around the town and ask for what the town feels. Ore'zham tells them to report to him in an hour before the speech is due. The party starts walking out. Rok spots a group of dwarves who are gambling with die. Rok, who is unfamiliar with gambling, approaches the group and says that Johnny is good at gambling. One of the dwarves offers Johnny in for 20 pieces of gold. He says that dwarves are political; times were rough and the king was awful. The new leadership under Oregram seems promising as he will bring them to the surface. Then the dwarf introduces the game: death rolling. Whoever draws the lower dice, must draw a dice loaded with lesser numbers. The first to hit "1" loses. Nosaj asks the dwarf how he would feel if Ore'zham is back and the dwarf is receptive towards electing him, if given the chance. Rok says he was a bastard dwarf, coming from a surface-dweller father and a mole-dwarf mother. Rok spreads rumors about Oregram, accusing him, among other things, being lazy and being in an extramarital affair. He says the castle has been quite empty. The dwarf admits that the city is quite dense and packed, and that the strategy of the previous king would try to cram as many people as possible, yet limit rations. He asks why Oregram plans of conquest in the surface-dweller. The dwarf divulges during the gambling, that one of the tavern is frequented by Oregram, though for unknown reasons. Only gamblers such as himself have taken notice of this. Rok inquires more. They then bid their farewell and Rok lets the party know they should investigate the tavern.
Rok and Johnny decide to head into the tavern, while Jed and Nasoj patrol around the perimeter for any trapdoors or fences. Nasoj is unable to find anything, while Jed is able to notice a ripping green slime. He flies up to it and licks the liquid. He takes some damage but tries to pry it open, beckoning Nasoj towards it.
Rok and Johnny approach an old woman in the tavern who is too ancient to talk. They decide to sit on the bar table. The bartender stares at them. Johnny asks for two drinks. The bartender notices that they are surface-dwellers. Rok says they are searching for the "greatest bar in the world" but the bartender says this bar is not it. They notice the bar barely has any patrons. They ask what the bartender feels about Oregram and the recent political situation. Johnny mentions the main two factions: the ones who wish to rise to the surface and the others who wish to remain where they are. As Johnny continues talking, Rok heads to the old woman they saw earlier. Johnny asks what the drink is called. It's "dweast". Johnny says he used to make alcohol for his family and offers to teach him how to brew more alcohol. He then brings up Ore'zham and says he is the right fit for Molemar. The bartender tells Johnny to not trust Ore'zham. He says Ore'zham left the dwarves and did nothing but suspicious activities. He asks why Ore'zham would hire surface-dwellers if he wanted to come back to regain the trust of the dwarves.
Meanwhile, Rok tries to flirt with the old woman. She says she's only 284 years old, quite "young" for her kind. She introduces him to her sisters, who are also old. She tells him of the issues which have been occurring at the nursing home. She says Oregram have locked all the elderly at the nursing home so they cannot vote.
Nasoj tries to climb up and help Jed pry open the window. He is able to climb up but tries to open the bars.
Johnny and Rok reconvene. Rok proposes to get the votes at the nursing home by breaking the elderly out, to allow them to vote. They decide to head upstairs. They open a door. They see Jed and Johnny trying to break in. Rok licks the green liquid brewing before them. They let them in and notice an alchemy set in the room. Johnny inspects the alchemy set which brewed the green liquid Jed and Rok took a taste of. Johnny investigates the room and finds a secret drawer from a lever. A note is inside. He reads it, which alludes to poisoning. It has an initial addressed to "O" and they suspect it could be by Oregram. Rok reads the recipe, which appears to include ingredients from plants which grow only on the surface. Whoever brewed the recipe must have been to the surface. They then hear a huge chime. The town hall meeting is about to begin.
Rok tells the group that there are plenty of pro-Ore'zham voters at the nursing home and that they should help them be able to vote. Rok and Johnny notice outside the window, they see a figure staring at them from outside, who immediately darts. Rok tells Jed to fly after the direction of the figure to scan for the area, while the others break chase. Jed applies Longstrider on Johnny, who misty steps through the bars, while Nasoj breaks through the bar. Rok tries to shoots a ray of ice at the figure. The figure, half-frozen, looks towards the roofs above and misty-steps towards. Jed keeps his sights on the figure, while Nasoj parkours across the roof, and Johnny casts an illusion of fire right in front of the figure's line of vision. Rok is unable to break through the window and has to climb down the stairs. They notice the figure pulls out a bow and points it in another direction. Jed tries to shoot a bow at the figure but misses. Nasoj tries to javelin throw his sword and misses as well. Rok tries to time when the figure lands so he can cast the perfect ice zap. As soon as the figure attempts to slide down a roof, he hits Rok's ice, and slips, and the figure falls to the ground, momentarily immobilized. They then catch up after the figure, who appears to be a dwarf. They ask why they were eavesdropping on him. They intimidate him to reveal who he was working for. The dwarf says he is working for Oregram. Nasoj grabs the dwarf's shoes and takes it away. Johnny suspects the dwarf is lying and threatens to burn the shoes. He confesses it was Ore'zham and they learn that Ore'zham did not fully trust them. He says that Ore'zham is indeed a prince and desires the throne, but beyond that, does not his other motivations. They let the dwarf run off after they are satisfied enough from the information.
They debate what to do, and decide to confront Ore'zham at the town hall meeting. They are late but are able to step in, where they see Ore'zham. Rok says they are bodyguards working for Ore'zham when one of the guards there stops them. The guard says Ore'zham never mentioned them. Johnny produces a copy of Ore'zham's original quest document to the guard, and the guard lets them through. They confront Ore'zham about the intel they heard. Ore'zham confesses that he did send the spy after, but only because he felt that they were being followed by Oregram. Ore'zham promises to tell the whole truth after his speech.
The pre-election meeting begins as the moderator introduces both Ore'zham and Oregram. Johnny notices that Ore'zham does some hand signals to guards around the perimeter. Rok accidentally bumps into one of the guards and notices a walled formation of guards tightening up the perimeter. Ore'zham begins his speech, hoping to set the record straight. He accuses Oregram of conspiring to kill his father, the king. He says that Oregram had hired surface-dwellers to help and he has the evidence. He then points straight at the Tentative Onworlders and orders the guards to search them. Rok tries to intervene and invokes his right as a dwarf to speak. Oregram says he does not wish to spill dwarven blood and is willing to stand trial to prove his innocence. Johnny produces more documents to prove their innocence and that Ore'zham had recruited them and was acting shady himself. The seer present there is not convinced and orders them to be detained in the meantime as they do an investigation, for they are under threat of the death penalty. The party tries to plead their case and demand fair representation and a trial. Rok, continuing to use his dwarven rights, demands for an alternative means of trial. After negotiating for another form of trial, the party and Oregram are led to the prison.
