Second Era

In Tamrielic history, the Second Era (2E) lasted nearly 900 years, from the establishment of Versidue-Shaie's potentacy at the end of the First Era, to the rise of Tiber Septim in 2E 896, which began the Third Era. It was a time of great upheaval and conflict, with the latter half dominated by a centuries-long interregnum. The Second Era also saw permanent transformations in Tamrielic culture, such as the rise of guilds and the adventuring class.

1st century

• 2E 0 — Versidue-Shaie declares the Second Era, marking the end of the Reman dynasty and rise of the Akaviri potentacy.

2nd century

• 2E 184 — Rampaging dragon Grahkrindrog is slain by dragon hunters.

3rd century

• 2E 230 — Vanus Galerion breaks from the Psijic Order and establishes the Mages Guild.
• 2E 231 — The Order of the Lamp is founded.
• 2E 283 — Potentate Versidue-Shaie wages war against rebellious vassals throughout Tamriel, and strives to eliminate private armies.

4th century

• 2E 309 — Anequina and Pellitine enter a personal union.
• 2E 312 — Conquest of Betony by the Seamount Orcs (approximate date)
• 2E 320 — Establishment of the Syffim, to become known as the Fighters Guild
• 2E 324 — Assassination of Versidue-Shaie at the hands of the Morag Tong; Savirien-Chorak inherits the Ruby Throne
• 2E 326 — Khajiit tribes overthrow Keirgo and sack the capital of Anequina.

• 2E 430 — Assassination of Savirien-Chorak; end of the Second Empire and beginning of the Interregnum
