Flynn is a male wood-elf artificer and pirate who is a member of Akula's Friends. He is intelligent, inquisitive, and timid. Flynn was originally from Port Royal and was a prodigious student at the Center of Academics and Research. He was expelled by the university board after he refused to cooperate with its staff over a project. Flynn was subsequently blacklisted by all other institutions of education across Atlas and became a social outcast.

He joined Akula's Friends in 15 AH after he was recruited by crew members Ryul Vidro and Anradeem Pravuil prior to the crew embarking on their maiden journey into the open seas. He was recommended by Tubby to be the crew's shipwright due to his advanced knowledge in engineering and shipbuilding.
