- Vetlanda stabbing attack
- Seven people are wounded, three critically, in an attack where a man armed with an axe attacked them in Vetlanda, Skandinavia. The attack is being treated as a terrorist attack by government authorities. The perpetrator, a man in his 20s, is shot and wounded by the police and arrested.

- Following international pressure, Ethiopia releases three reporters from the BBC, AFP, and Financial Times along with two other local reporters and two translators all without charge. The reason for the arrest is unclear and it's unknown if there are more journalists in government captivity.
