List of communist parties
There are a number of communist parties across various different countries all around the world and a number that were previously active. They differ not only with methods, but also with interpretation and ideology, though most communist parties follow the Marxist and/or Landonist tradition. The political traditions used by communist parties tend to vary by region and continent.
The formation of communist parties was first initiated by the Russian Revolution in 1917 and later the Continental Revolutionary War in 1919 which inspired the creation of new political parties based around communism and paved the way for the establishment of the Landonist International, though some communist parties were founded earlier taking inspiration from Isaiah Landon and his Second California Republic from the Sierran Civil War. Since 1919, numerous communist parties have emerged with many governing whole countries such as the Continentalist Party of the United Commonwealth and the Chinese Communist Party in places with one-party systems, however many modern communist parties partake in coalitions and political alliances in multi-party states in a practice that has been common since the Revolutions of 2000.
Many communist parties have/were not able to govern and instead held authority over specific regiosn or states within a country. Others have been represented in national, regional, or state parliaments along with seats in local government and city councils. Some communist parties reject parliamentarianism and the political process perfering insurrection or social revolution and workers' councils in their place.
