Biafra, officially the Republic of Biafra (Igbo: TBD) is a country located in West Africa. It borders TBD to the north, TBD to the west, TBD to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea to the south. It covers an area of 77,306 square kilometres (29,848 sq mi), and with a population of over TBD million. The capital city is Enugu and the largest city is Onitsha.

The early settlement of Biafra was dated back in 6000 BC based on pottery found in the Okigwe. There are many evidences on early civilization especially ancient tools and fossils. Prior to the British colonization of Biafra, the northern kingdom of Nri was exist around the 10th century based on Umunri traditions, is credited with the foundation of much of Biafras culture, customs, and religious practices. The Igbo people became one of the principal ethnic groups to be enslaved during the Atlantic slave trade between 1650 and 1900. The major slave trading ports were located in Bonny and Calabar at that time. There are political uprising against the British Empire from late 1880's to early 20th century. Biafra was decolonized in 1960 following the independence of Nigeria. However, there are series of massacres were committed against Igbo people resulting to the country's declaration of independence in 1966, which ultimately led to the Nigeria-Biafra war.

Biafra share land borders with TBD to the north, TBD to the west, and with Cameroon to the east. Its coast is on the Gulf of Guinea of the South Atlantic Ocean in the south. It comprised over 29,848 square miles (77,310 km2) of land.

The country have three types of vegetation. The coastal areas in the south is dominated by mangrove swamps and tidal waterways. Further north of the swamps is the tropical rainforest, however, over a period of time, many of the leafy trees of the forest were cleared for planting palm trees. Biafra's northeast bordered the Benue Hills and mountains that lead to Cameroon. Three major rivers flow from Biafra into the Gulf of Guinea: Imo River, the Cross River and the Niger River.
